Loaves & Fishes Hospitality House

On the second Saturday of every month, folks from Calvary Fellowship Southbury volunteer time at the Loaves and Fishes Hospitality House in New Milford, CT. 

At the soup kitchen volunteers serve up a hot meal; many times homemade, along with smiles and a listening ear to all who enter.

The workers realize that they are the face of Jesus to those on the other side of the counter and take that very seriously.  They treat the visitors as paying customers, looking to give the best service they can.  Anyone from any walk of life is welcomed when mealtime begins at 4:30 PM.  There is lively conversation as the workers scramble around the kitchen to see that every dinner is complete.

Everyone eating a meal at Loaves and Fishes also receives a bag lunch to take with them when they leave. There are lulls in the serving, as the customers ebb and flow, until the last meal is served from 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM.

Then the crew cleans up and heads out tired, but happy and satisfied that they have served Jesus by serving those He loves.
