Calvary Chapel Southbury Men's Ministry
As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
Proverbs 27:17
Today, possibly more than any
other time in Church History, the family is under attack and,
especially, the man of the house. The result has been confusion
in the church about what a Christian man is really supposed
to be and do. In addition, there are struggles and temptations
out there which only men truly understand. Often men today
feel helplessly trapped and discouraged. But there is hope
for today. The only solution to this problem is time in the
Word, time in prayer, accountability and good fellowship with
other godly men, under the Headship of the LORD Jesus Christ
and leading of the Holy Spirit.
To that end, the men of Calvary Chapel Southbury, Connecticut
meet the last Saturday of each month at the church, at 8:30
AM in the Teen Center to have a good time of fellowship, both
physical (breakfast) food and spiritual food (Bible study)
and prayer. The Calvary Chapel Southbury Men's Ministry was
designed to enjoy fellowship with other believing men, to
be a place for men to invite unbelieving men as an alternative
inroad to "going to church", to place a solid biblical
foundation under all of them, provide encouragement and spiritual
guidance, to raise up new leaders from the body and for the
body, and to have accountability among the men in our church.
This is a free Bible study open to the public and all men
are invited.
The format is:
- Breakfast
- Prayer requests taken
- Opening Prayer
- Short, twenty minute message from a member of the Men's Group
- Short Q & A
- Closing prayer
- Fellowship/Dismissal
